Fast Company - Why You Should Think Twice Before Promoting Your Next Employee

VividCortex has another new article on Fast Company's website! (Read the prior pieces by Baron Schwartz here and here.)

In this most recent article, Baron uses insights gleaned from his experience as VividCortex's CEO to examine the best practices for advancing and promoting employees within an organization. And dipping into some out-of-office, extracurricular expertise, Baron features his knowledge of rock climbing to help illustrate some surprising truths about how proper progression within a company might best be executed:

"There’s a special class of maneuvers in a rock climber’s repertoire called a 'dyno.' The term is an abbreviation of "dynamic" and refers to a point in a climber’s ascent where, instead of moving methodically to the next obvious foothold or hand position, the climber launches upward—springing toward a location that would otherwise be out of reach... Many growing businesses face similar predicaments when it comes to their talent. You're hiring fast. Loads of new employees are entering your ranks, and veterans are swiftly taking on new challenges and job titles. The experience is thrilling, anxiety-inducing, and (yes) dynamic."

Check out the full article here to learn what dynamic hiring really means, and be on the look out for more top VividCortex content, both here on our company blog and in other publications online.
