Delivering Technical Intelligence

What is technical intelligence? Technical intelligence is what you need to observe, contextualize, and understand how technical systems behave. It’s roughly equivalent to the OOD in John Boyd’s OODA loop. Technical intelligence is analogous to emotional intelligence or I.Q., but in a different domain.

The tools you use form a system through which you model your world. We want to help you have an accurate mental model of why your systems behave as they do. We believe measurement is the most important step in forming and using this model. That’s why we measure everything — in one-second granularity.

This is our first blog post. We’ll write many more. Subscribe to this blog’s feed to keep up-to-date with our progress towards an open public beta, as well as learn a lot of technical and conceptual details about what we’re building, how it works, and why it’s a revolution, not just an evolution, in how you manage your systems.
